Bay Class

Coming soon...our Autumn Term 1 Topic:

Bristol and Beyond

Bay Class is home to our oldest pupils, from Years 5 and 6. Bay Class is situated in the main building with our other Phase 2 class River and is based in the newest classroom, built in 2003.

Bay Class is named after Bridgwater Bay, the destination for the River Parrett as it joins the Bristol Chanel.

Bay Class is taught by Mrs Zoe Llewellyn and Miss Bev Smith (HLTA)

Our current topic is You're Hired. During this unit, we will learn a range of employability skills (such as giving a presentation, answering questions and writing a cv as well as teamwork and time management). We will also work on our enterprise skills through the Fiver Challenge.

We will continue having our Sports Coach sessions on a Monday afternoon, but please have PE kit in school every day as we will vary our second session according to the weather. Homework is set on a Friday and due in by the following Wednesday and spellings are set and tested each week on Friday. Each child also sets their own Literacy and Maths targets.

Year 5 will have Forest School sessions on Thursday 8th, 15th and 22nd June. Year 6's Forest School sessions are Thursday 29th June, 6th and 13th July.

Our current Inspire unit of study is:

You're Hired

During this topic, we will follow the national Fiver Challenge where children will learn about business skills and employability. In their own enterprise teams, they will design, produce, market and advertise a product and calculate prices to make a profit from their initial £5 loan.

We have set up our companies, worked out our products and services, and designed our names and logos. You will soon be able to click on the companies below to see our products and advertising. All profit raised will go towards iPads for the school.
