Meet the OPS Governors.....

Claire Winson - Chair of Governors (responsible for curriculum)

Hi, I'm Claire Winson and I have been Chair of Governors at Otterhampton Primary for 4 years. During this time I have thoroughly enjoyed working with staff and pupils.  I have been working in Further and Higher Education for over 25 years and feel very passionately about all children having the best possible start to their educational career.

I live very locally to Otterhampton so understand the issues of being a parent (and great benefits) living in a rural community.

I look forward to meeting you at OPS!

Ali Pugsley - Vice Chair of Governors (responsible for Safeguarding)

Hi, I’m Ali Pugsley. I have been a parent governor at Otterhampton Primary School for 4 years, I am the Safeguarding link governor and also the Vice Chair of governors. I really enjoy the rewarding role of supporting staff and pupils at OPS. I am on the playground several days a week and always happy to say hello.

Anne Buller - Parent Governor (responsible for SEND)

Hi. I’m Anne Buller. I own Quantock Steamers a family run local business producing Award Winning Puddings.

A lot of you will know me as Aiden’s Mum. I have been SEN Governor at Otterhampton for 4 years and really enjoy my role working with staff and pupils.

Dan Hunter - Community Governor

Hi, My name is Dan Hunter and I saw that Otterhampton Primary was looking for new Governors.

I have very little experience with school life, but I do run the school residential programme at Hill House Christian Centre & before moving to this area I ran children’s and youth groups in Bristol. I also ran weeks of camp at Hill House.

I have a passion to see children thrive and progress, and I feel that being in such a great community I want to give something back, so thought I would try and offer some of my skills at Otterhampton Primary.

I’m looking forward to learning more about how school life works and encouraging children and staff to become the best people they can be.
