Our school council is made up of elected representatives from each of the classes in school. We meet every week to discuss a wide range of topics that impact our school and local environment, the activities and opportunities at our school and how we can help to develop teaching and learning within each of our classes.

The role of our school council is to represent the members of each class, to disseminate key information, to poll classmates on their ideas and opinions and to feed these back in School Council Meetings to drive change and improvements in our school.

We have been really active so far this year. Key activities have included:

  • Helping to create the develop a new set of lunchtime activities
  • Organising fundraising events for Red Nose Day and Children in Need
  • Representing our classes' views on Forest School, threading the willow and clearing the area ready for use

In addition, members of the School Council select a member of their class each week who has best embodied the chosen “Value of the Week”. They present a certificate to the winning recipient in our values assembly on Friday afternoons.
