River Class

Welcome to River Class, which is home to Year 2 and 3.

River Class are based in the original, large Victorian classroom in the main building and is named after the River Parrett, on which the village of Combwich has grown and developed over time.

River Class is taught by Mrs Liz Everett, Mr Dyer and Mrs Amy Hill (TA).

PE

Our PE days are Thursday and Friday. However, please make sure your child has their P.E. kit in school every day in case of timetable changes. All clothing needs to be clearly named to avoid anything getting lost.

Homework

Children are expected to read at least 4 times at home during the week. Please could you write in the name of the book, pages read and sign this in your child’s reading log. I will be collecting the number of reads per week every Friday to monitor reading.

Other homework, relating to English, maths or topic will be set on a Friday and collected the followed Friday.

All children are encourage to practise their times tables at home, this should include using TT Rockstars.

Spellings will be sent home every Friday to reinforce spelling patterns and strategies introduced throughout the week in spelling sessions. Please could you encourage your child to practise these at home.
