River Class caters for our lower juniors in Years 2, 3 and 4. They are based in the original Victorian classroom which has just been completely redecorated ready for them and has two interactive whiteboards.
River Class is named after the River Parrett, on which the village of Combwich has grown and developed over time.
River Class is taught by Mr Ben Adams (while Mrs Susannah Eggar is on maternity leave) and Mrs Liz White (TA).
Welcome back to the Summer term!
Our Inspire units for the term include:
- What did the Romans do for us?
- Amazing Amazon
We will continue to have sports coach sessions every Monday afternoon, however we would love to have PE kit in each day for our new venture into 'The Golden Mile'.
Homework and spellings will be set on a Friday and due in the following Wednesday. A new topic homework sheet will be set at the beginning of each Inspire topic which will contain a variety of activities. You will only need to complete one activity per week.
Year 3 and 4 will have the amazing opportunity to experience the outdoors in Forest School. A letter has been sent home which contains the requirements to enjoy this experience to the fullest.
The dates are as follows:
Year 3: 11.05.17, 18.05.17, 25.05.17

This Unit introduces pupils to the mighty River Amazon of South America. Although it is not the world’s longest river, it is the greatest in terms of the sheer volume of water it carries to the sea. With over 15,000 tributaries, some of which are mighty rivers in their own right, the Amazon is actually a vast river system which drains a massive area stretching across Peru, Brazil, Bolivia and Venezuela.
